The All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
Considering the challenges of today, to ensure the social rights and freedoms of servicemen and their families, and to enhance their level of social protection, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine. From the Ministry's side, the signing procedure and coordination of further joint actions involved Deputy Minister of Social Policy Volodymyr Vasylenko, Director General of the Directorate for Persons with Disabilities Oleh Ulanovskyi, and the head of the expert group on assistive devices of the Directorate for Persons with Disabilities Andriy Nezdoliy. The Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine was represented by its head Serhiy Byzov, Deputy Head Lieutenant General Yuriy Dumanskyi, as well as Russian-Ukrainian war veterans Oleksiy Mishchenko and Dmytro Starikov.
The main areas of cooperation between the parties will include:
– conducting a systematic analysis of existing problems in the field of social protection for servicemen, combatants, war veterans, their family members, and other vulnerable groups of the population; searching for solutions; carrying out analytical research, including the study of international experience in this area;
– creation and dissemination of informational materials regarding the mechanisms for realizing the rights and social guarantees of all the aforementioned citizens;
– drafting proposals to improve legislation in the field of social protection for servicemen and women, combatants, war veterans, their family members, and other vulnerable groups;
– participation in the implementation of projects and initiatives related to the objectives of the Memorandum, and more.
“This Memorandum strengthens our comprehensive commitment to the defenders and will provide a broader range of support for veterans and their families in the field of social protection. In partnership with the Ministry, we will implement concrete, realistic steps toward the welfare of people who have sacrificed their health and prime years of life in the war for Ukraine. Mutual exchange of experience will allow us to better provide veterans with the necessary resources, opportunities, and recognition they deserve—particularly at the legislative level,” emphasized the head of the All-Ukrainian Union of Defenders, Serhiy Byzov.
