The development of physical culture and sports is one of the key areas of activity of the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine. Our team consistently supports initiatives aimed at strengthening the health of young people, promoting an active lifestyle, and fostering national and patriotic values through sports events.

Recently, the Mayor’s Cup in ISKA Kickboxing took place in Mykolaiv, co-organized by the Mykolaiv Regional Branch of the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine. The event brought together over 160 athletes from different parts of the region and became a highlight in the city’s sports life.

The tournament featured over 160 athletes across four age categories — 11–12 years, 13–14, 15–17, and over 17. Competitions were held in three disciplines: low kick, kick light, and musical forms with and without weapons. Matches took place simultaneously at three locations, adding extra spectacle to the event.
At the ceremonial opening of the competition, servicemen from the 40th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade, Sergeant Serhiy Butko of the 30th Marine Corps Command, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Iryna Bondarenko, and Oleksandr Rusnak, Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Branch of the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine, were present. Oleksandr Rusnak presented athletes with letters of appreciation and awards for their winning places. The tournament was held at a high organizational level and once again demonstrated the effective collaboration between the sports community, the military, and the regional trade union movement.

“Today, sports are not just about victories and medals. They are about strength of spirit, endurance, and unity. For our trade union, it is important to support young people, promote patriotic education, and create opportunities for the self-development of children and youth. We will continue to facilitate such events, because a strong nation begins with a healthy and united society,” emphasized Oleksandr Rusnak.
