An event dedicated to the launch of the women's wing of the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine, athletes, and workers in various fields took place in Kyiv. The Deputy Chairwoman of the Trade Union, Sofia Cherepanova, who is the curator of this initiative, explained that during the meeting, the main tasks concerning the families of military personnel were outlined, and friendly and partnership projects were presented.
Among the initiatives is psychological support for women during wartime, provided by the Future for Ukraine Foundation. Additionally, there are retraining programs for veterans and their families in the IT sector and an English language club run by the "Women in Tech Ukraine" project. An important element is medical and physical rehabilitation, as well as prosthetics, based at the Next Step Medical and Physical Rehabilitation Center for Defenders of Ukraine. Social rehabilitation for defenders and their families was also discussed.
Notably, the event was attended by Svitlana Tryfonova, a Paralympic champion in cross-country skiing, who emphasized the importance of physical development through sports and the promotion of the image of people with disabilities in modern Ukrainian society.

Additionally, initiatives for children were presented, including sports sections and training, summer camps in Ukraine and abroad, cultural development (such as performances, concerts, excursions, etc.), and health resort recovery for the whole family.
The Deputy Chairwoman of the Trade Union, Sofia Cherepanova, mentioned that during the event, special care was taken for the children of the community who were present. A workshop on making traditional motanka dolls was held for them, and at the end, each child received gifts from the Trade Union.

The main goal of the meeting was to unite women to support each other and to build a conscious women's community in post-war Ukraine, believes Sofia Cherepanova.
"As of today, I am the only woman in the leadership of the Trade Union, so my main task is to build and strengthen the women's wing. First, we all know that the only ones stronger than Ukrainian men are Ukrainian women. Second, men protect each other on the front lines, in the rear, and in everyday life. But who will protect them? This is why, based on the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine, we want to create a strong women's community that will become a solid shield for each other and for our soldiers," explains Sofia Cherepanova.
