A working meeting took place between the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine and Emmanuel Jacob, president of the European Organisation of Military Associations and Trade Unions (EUROMIL), which includes nearly 40 military associations and trade unions from over 20 European countries.
The meeting was attended by Serhiy Byzov, head of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine; Anatoliy Ostapenko, Member of Parliament of Ukraine; Yevhen Drapyaty, Deputy Head of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine; and the leadership of the Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine.
The EUROMIL president presented the organization's activities, shared the experience of European military trade unions, and highlighted the example of resilience and organization shown by Ukrainian military personnel, who today inspire the international community.
On behalf of the Trade Union, Deputy Head Yurii Dumansky emphasized that the organization unites military personnel who carry out combat missions on the front lines, and that this experience can be valuable for the development of the international trade union movement.
The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in the veteran movement, the issue of the Trade Union’s membership in EUROMIL, and the possibility of joining the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).
“We have much to learn from Ukraine. It is important not only what we do for Ukraine but also what we do together with Ukraine,” emphasized EUROMIL President Emmanuel Jacob.
