Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine, Sofiya Cherepanova, visited the Ukrainian House in Alicante, Spain, and donated a selection of Ukrainian books for the local children\u2019s library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the donated books is a copy of *\u201cDark Corners: My Dad Has PTSD\u201d* by Katrin Schrocke, which helps readers better understand the inner world of a child facing the consequences of war in the family. The collection also includes children's comics about Ukrainian superheroes inspired by real-life State Emergency Service rescuers, a mine safety guide featuring the beloved dog Patron, the storybook collection *\u201c100 Tales of the Enchanted Forest\u201d*, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cIn the Spanish city of Alicante, the Ukrainian diaspora is very active \u2014 despite the pain of being separated from their homeland, they preserve native traditions and promote the Ukrainian language in Spain. The women have even launched a bilingual glossy magazine and consistently remind Europe about the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war. I hope these books will help young Ukrainians living far from home stay connected to their language and culture.
