QUALITY EDUCATION FOR VETERANS: Memorandum signed between Kyiv Professional College and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs

At the Veteran Development Center, operating within the Kyiv Professional College of Applied Sciences, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the educational institution and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine. The document was signed by the College Director, Hanna Shchutska, and Deputy Minister Yulia Kirillova.

The signing took place with the participation of the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine, a co-founder of the Center and the largest veteran community in the country. Present at the event were the Trade Union’s Deputy Chair Sofia Cherepanova, women’s wing activist Oksana Palagecha, war veteran and Center director Ihor Panchenko, advisor to the head of the Kyiv Regional Organization of the Trade Union Yevhen Sukhanov, Trade Union rehabilitation program coordinator Elmir Agayev, who will teach medical aid courses for the College students. Representatives from the Kyiv City Department of Education and Science, Yulia Marchenko and Yulia Kelina, also joined.

According to the Memorandum, the parties will collaborate to promote veteran education and the social adaptation of servicemembers. The agreement provides for the development of internship programs at the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, educational opportunities at the Veteran Development Center, and the organization of awareness campaigns, workshops, and training sessions.

“The signing of this Memorandum is not just a formality, but a sincere gesture of gratitude and support for our defenders. This cooperation opens new educational opportunities for veterans and their families, so that each of them has a chance to gain new knowledge, a respectable profession, and a confident future in civilian life,” emphasized Sofiya Cherepanova, who already has successful cases of collaboration with the College in the area of personal development for the women’s wing of the Trade Union, including female veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war and active servicewomen.
