The All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivshchyna” proposes passing a law that would grant 2 hectares of land to every willing servicemember ready to cultivate it.

This initiative was announced by the head of the “Batkivshchyna” party, Yulia Tymoshenko, during her speech in parliament. She proposed submitting a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada to allocate 2 hectares of land to combatants, persons disabled as a result of the war, and family members of fallen (missing or deceased) Defenders of Ukraine who intend to engage in agricultural activities in rural areas. According to her, Ukrainians have long understood that land is no longer a commodity — it is a fundamental right to live. And those who defended it at the cost of their health have the greatest claim to this land.

The leader of “Batkivshchyna” is convinced that passing the law developed by her team will help reintegrate and adapt defenders in the post-war period: “This is a fundamental draft law that will give every soldier who wishes to cultivate land after the war the opportunity to receive it, work on it, live, raise children, and provide for their family,” says Yulia Tymoshenko.

The All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine supports this initiative and considers the law extremely important for building a dignified future for Ukrainian defenders in the post-war period.
