The Mykolaiv Regional Organization of the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine, headed by Chairman Oleksandr Rusnak and his adviser Kateryna Srebniuk, paid a visit to the Mykolaiv Regional Organization of UTOG — a community of people with hearing impairments that brings together children and adults and helps them experience the world through silence.

The guests were warmly welcomed by Ihor Revenko, Acting Head of the organization; Anna Sviatska, instructor and methodologist for the deaf; Yuliia Revenko, a sign language interpreter; and Alina Horbachova, Head of the territorial organization. During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues and challenges faced by people with hearing impairments in wartime, shared experiences, and identified possible areas for further cooperation. On the occasion of the upcoming New Year holidays, the trade union representatives congratulated the children of the community and presented them with festive gifts.

“Sincere emotions and the genuine joy of the children became the greatest reward for everyone who took part in this event. They do not hear the sirens, but they feel the fear and anxiety of war just as acutely. That is why it is extremely important for them to know that they are not alone.”
“I would like to especially thank our partners — the Angels of Ukraine charitable initiative from Los Angeles, led by Anzhelika Kotliar. It was thanks to their support that the children felt care, attention, and a true sense of celebration,” notes Oleksandr Rusnak, Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Organization of the Trade Union.
