Professional adaptation and self-realization of war veterans are currently among the key areas of activity of the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine. Education, professional support, and the opportunity to gain new competencies are important components of the successful reintegration of servicemen into civilian life.
At the initiative of Deputy Head of the Trade Union Sofia Cherepanova, a trilateral meeting was held in Kyiv dedicated to issues of professional adaptation and educational opportunities for war veterans and their family members. The event was attended by Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Department of Psychology at the Academy of Labour, Social Relations and Tourism Liudmyla Beheza, as well as Deputy Head of the Educational Programs and Professional Adaptation Department of the Veterans Education and Business Directorate of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Maksym Androsenko.

During the open dialogue, the parties discussed the implementation of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 432 dated June 21, 2017, the mechanisms of social and professional adaptation for persons discharged or being discharged from military service, as well as issues of support for war veterans, persons with special merits before the Motherland, members of their families, and families of fallen Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine.
Particular attention was paid to opportunities for professional adaptation through studies at the Academy of Labour, Social Relations and Tourism, founded by the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. In particular, the discussion focused on training specialists in psychology, public management and administration, marketing, management, economics, vocational education, and law.
“Developing educational programs for veterans and creating accessible conditions for acquiring a new profession is an important step toward their social stability, professional fulfillment, and a confident future after service,” Sofia Cherepanova noted.
