Trade Union unity is not only about joint decisions and initiatives. Above all, it is about the willingness to join forces for the sake of people and work together to create additional opportunities for them. For the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine, supporting the families of Defenders is an important part of its systematic work. At the same time, the Trade Union is always there for every member who needs support. That is why we develop partnerships between our organizations, combine resources, and implement initiatives aimed at providing real support to people and improving their quality of life.

This summer, once again, the Women’s Wing and the Mykolaiv Regional Organization of the Trade Union joined forces around a common goal. For two months, work was carried out to provide more than 300 family members of Trade Union members with sportswear: children’s and teenagers’ tracksuits, leggings, and cycling shorts for training, sports activities, and active recreation. This support was especially timely for families with schoolchildren, as the new school year is just ahead, bringing even more activities beyond the classroom.

“A great deal of work has gone into this. It was important for us not simply to send the items, but to make sure that each one was truly suitable for the child. We received fitting reports, double-checked the sizes, arranged additional shipments when necessary, exchanged items for the required sizes, and checked the results again. In the end, more than 300 children and teenagers received sportswear that they can use for training, practicing their favorite sport, and simply staying active. Behind this result is a great deal of work and the understanding that support should not be merely formal, but real and tangible,” emphasizes Sofia Cherapanova, Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine.
